After we decided we would go ahead with using the white feather movement and female patriotism as our idea for our digital project I started researching and found the following sources:

firstworldwar.com. (n.d.). Women and WWI - Feminist and Non-Feminist Women: Between Collaboration and Pacifist Resistanc. Retrieved from First World War: http://www.firstworldwar.com/features/womenww1_three.htm

Gullace, N. F. (1997). White Feathers and Wounded Men: Female Patriotism and the Memory of the Great War. The Journal of British Studies , 36 (2), 178-206. Retrieved from http://www.libraryofsocialscience.com/ideologies/docs/WhiteFeathersPatriotismWomenWWl.pdf

Simmers, G. (2007). White Feathers : Stories of Courage, Recruitment and Gender at the start of the Great War. Retrieved from Great War Fiction : http://greatwarfiction.wordpress.com/white-feathers-stories-of-courage-cowardice-and-recruitment-at-the-start-of-the-great-war/

They all provided further information to our idea.
